2016
In 2016, GreenFirm worked on the development of the Beryl Solar Farm in New South Wales. This solar farm project was the first one in the country to receive a contract for difference (CFD) under the RET scheme. The 110-megawatt (MW) solar farm project was a joint venture between New Energy Solar and First Solar, and it had the capacity to power around 25,000 homes in the region.
2015
In 2018, GreenFirm worked on the development of the Wellington Solar Farm in New South Wales. This 174 MW solar farm project was a joint venture between Lightsource BP and Canadian Solar, and it had the capacity to power around 70,000 homes in the region. The project was completed in 2019 and was one of the largest solar farms in the state at the time.
2017
In 2017, GreenFirm continued its work in the solar farm sector with the development of the Karadoc Solar Farm in Victoria. This 112 MW solar farm project was a joint venture between Total Eren and Edify Energy, and it was expected to generate around 256,000 MWh of renewable energy each year. The project was completed in 2019 and became one of the largest solar farms in the state.
2015
In 2015, the Australian government launched the Renewable Energy Target (RET), which aimed to generate 33,000 gigawatt-hours of renewable energy by 2020. This initiative gave rise to an increase in solar farm projects across the country.
